Auto insurance documents required to get quotes

Car insurance is compulsory in America. Every driver will need car insurance and in doing do, you will need to first provide your car insurance company with some required documents. What exactly are these documents? Read on...

1) Income tax slip, pay slip (company payment voucher)
Your job and salary determines your car insurance premium. It is important to the car insurance companies that the applicant can foot premium payments without deferring or being late. Hence they will need your income tax of assessment or payment slips from your company.

2) Your Valid driver's license
Your drivers license is fundamental as a document. This will also let the car insurer know your personal details, such as age and gender. Factually, drivers in a lower age group drive more recklessly than adults and hence premiums would be more expensive.

3) Credit Report from the credit beaureau
Car insurance company will require your credit report to track your payment history on things like your credit cards, loans etc. This will tell them how responsible and prompt you are when it comes to payment. A better credit score will mean a lower insurance rate generally.

4) Make and model of vehicle and driving record.
This is straightforward. If your driving record is bad, you have lots of tickets then surely your premium will be higher. The model of your car matters because obviously it will cost the car insurance company more to cover a Toyota headlight as compared to a Mercedes headlight.
